Wicca,
witchcraft, and paganism have as many different styles as there are
people who practice them. I can only speak from my personal experience.
When I started down the Wiccan path my main form of learning was books.
The internet was a good resource for some things but to really find
the heart of this religion I looked at the authors that had gone before
me. Because most people begin as solitaries I think there is a dependence
on written sources that you might not find in a different faith where
a church or priest would be more available. One of the most challenging
parts of learning about Wicca is finding a source that you can trust
not to lead you astray. A student of the craft needs to have confidence
in their teacher. There are just as many books published that are
full of misleading and dangerous assumptions as ones that are honest
guides to the practice of witchcraft.
I can wholeheartedly say that the books found here in our library
are going to help Wiccans and pagans of any level learn and grow in
healthy ways. Here we offer you a wealth of knowledge from America’s
father of Wicca Dr. Raymond Buckland. He is a humble teacher who has
helped pave the path for my generation and many more generations to
come. Thank you, Raymond Buckland, for your bravery in sharing your
wisdom with us.
Congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Big Blue (Buckland’s
Complete Book of Witchcraft)!
